In this fluctuating world, as everyone prospers together, something which is pecking down society is RACISM. Especially people are being judged based on their skin colour. As of today, we live in a society where blacks are being dragged, and whites often bags the prize. Every country is aligned with its own constitutional rules, but the question is, do they abide by it?

Every country is assigned with a law, stating everyone will be treated equally, regardless of their COLOUR, CREED, CASTE. But to practise the same, it becomes quite difficult for people abiding by the law. Screening some magazines, newspapers, and even politicians addressing the public, we tend to see/hear the contents mentioned in those pages or their sayings, we always hear racist comments.

Recently, a very furious and disappointing incident which took place in America, which gave big fumes again to Racism. Not only the citizens but even many International Countries, Political Leaders, Institutions, too showed their dissent to it. The world was able to witness this incident as it was broadcasted, but there are multiple events which happen every then and now and nothing is heard.

I was just surfing the internet the other day and came across a piece of news stating, an English book says ‘U’ for ‘Ugly’ with a black men’s photo, which was then justified by the political leader saying, the book was introduced by the school itself, not part of the government’s recommendation list, saying so, two of their teachers were suspended. Even though the government suspended teachers, it taught those kids something to learn, which they were never supposed to.

A politician in a discussion, mentioned the people of Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh as Black. Though he was slammed on social media, there were no legal actions made against him. So, when there are no actions taken against these criminals, it gives the boost to those following them.
And so there are uncountable cases which keeps popping up every single day.

Even though India has a Literacy rate of 74%, creating issues, commenting people on their skin tone, discrimination, marks the moral literacy of the country to a big ZERO. It starts with school books to listening to some politicians. We need to realize that we may be reaching out globally but, we must eradicate the weed which is been growing within.

So, instead of calling an individual, a community, geographically located people as black, let’s start educating ourselves in such a way that we start showing some respect and dignity to every individual we address. Let’s stop limiting ourselves with just celebrating 26th January as a day when our constitution was made effective, rather let’s realize why was it even brought.

“ I think that’s where our Preamble and Constitution stand”.
